Vintage Framed Original Oil Painting by Knut Norman




I love finding paintings by Knut Norman- they never disappoint me. Knut Norman was a very confident painter and his paintings are always filled with atmosphere and light. He laid down his paint without any hesitation and left it. Some painters put down a stroke and then fiddle with it to adjust the shape of color until there is no life left in it. Knut was not one of those painters. He made a decision and kept it. He knew how to steer and manipulate the viewer into seeing his vision which worked very well for him. And the viewer. 


Framed vintage original oil painting of Italian canal scene by, listed artist, Knut Norman (1896-1977). Stunning and very atmospheric scene rendered in clear colors and using excellent brush technique. Beautiful composition. Knut Norman's art studies were financed by one of Sweden's most famous painter, Anders Zorn. Comes in original frame. A classic painting.

Condition: Painting and frame in Good condition. Small drop of varnish at top of painting. It is barely visible and does not detract from overall beauty.

Erik Olson Original Mid Century Print Sweden Click Here for More Information or to Purchase  I am continuously surprised and sometimes a bit saddened by what is available in charity shops and flea markets here in Sweden. Some of the artwork that I sell online at   Vintage Art Room   is found at "loppis" (flea market) here. When I am at "loppisar" (plural for flea market!) I have to sort through a lot of artwork- it's a very dirty job actually. I think that for every 100-150 paintings I look at I am lucky to find one good one. The Swede's were quite prolific painters both amateurs and professional up until about the 70's. A fantastic moody expressionist seascape oil painting by, Swedish painter and listed artist, Einar Emland.
