Vintage Winter Scene Original Oil Painting by Gunnar Berglund '70


It's been so overbearingly hot is Sweden these past few weeks. High temperatures and very high humidity is something we aren't used to here. I thought it would be refreshing to post a cool winter scene. This is painted by a very accomplished artist, Gunnar Berglund. He is a master a using an economy of brushstrokes and cooler. Paintings often feel busy and fussy when there is too much detail. This painting isn't like that at all. I think a sense of calm prevails. 150USD


Vintage fine art oil painting signed Gunner Berglund '70. Gunnar Berglund (1906-1992), listed artist, studied art in Copenhagen, Berlin, London and Paris. He is represented in several museums in Sweden. With its beautiful color notes and decisive brush strokes this painting has a very strong composition and beautiful clear colors that all combined make this painting a striking winter scene.

Some of the artwork that I sell online at   Vintage Art Room   is found at "loppis" (flea market) here. When I am at "loppisar" (plural for flea market!) I have to sort through a lot of artwork- it's a very dirty job actually. I think that for every 100-150 paintings I look at I am lucky to find one good one. The Swede's were quite prolific painters both amateurs and professional up until about the 70's. A fantastic moody expressionist seascape oil painting by, Swedish painter and listed artist, Einar Emland.
