Swedish Vintage Oil Painting by Listed Artist Eda Douscha 1929 Click Here For More Information and Pricing Original vintage seascape oil painting dated 1929 by Eda Douscha (1879-1967), listed artist, Sweden. Eda studied in Paris at Académie Colarossi and other art schools in Europe and Sweden. Very beautiful impressionistic coastal painting with confident brush strokes showing bravura and excellent understanding of color and color usage making the subject matter appear realistic and add great depth to the painting that draws the viewer into the scene. The repetition of colors in the composition unifies the painting and provides contrast between the lights, darks and textures in the sea and rocks. A very lovely painting in person. Wow! At first I almost dismissed this painting, but then I caught a glimpse of it again out of the corner of my eye and saw it's beauty. The subtle and very atmospheric background with it's glowing lights really are beautifully rendered. The painting has such wonderful depth. It's something I am guilty of too. But, when I find a piece like this, obviously painted with a skillfull hand, I feel frustrated not being able to put a name to it. Maybe it just adds to the intrigue of this piece.  On the back it says "Cliffs at Starndhagen- Arild". Arild is a coastal town about 30km above Helsingborg that attracts artists by the droves for its scenic views and many plein air painting opportunities. SOLD
