Vintage Mid Century Oil Painting by Fabian Lundqvist Sweden



Stunning still life oil painting by listed artist Fabian Lundqvist (1913-1989) from Sweden. On stretched linen in gold frame. Richly colored flowers in a tall vase against an abstracted background- this painting is stunning in person! Paint shows some craquelure which is a normal process of aging and does not affect the integrity of this piece. Fabian Lunqvist studied in Sweden at Skånska Painting Academy and was a student of Jean Fautrier and Andre Lahote in Paris. Represented in many public collections in Sweden. Stunning painting in person!

Erik Olson Original Mid Century Print Sweden Click Here for More Information or to Purchase  I am continuously surprised and sometimes a bit saddened by what is available in charity shops and flea markets here in Sweden. Some of the artwork that I sell online at   Vintage Art Room   is found at "loppis" (flea market) here. When I am at "loppisar" (plural for flea market!) I have to sort through a lot of artwork- it's a very dirty job actually. I think that for every 100-150 paintings I look at I am lucky to find one good one. The Swede's were quite prolific painters both amateurs and professional up until about the 70's. I don't find much work produced in the 80's and on.  When I come across pieces like this print mid century print by Erik Olson of the Swedish art circle Halmstadgruppen I am amazed.  There is a museum here in Sweden devoted solely to the Halmstad Group called Mjellby Art Museum . A fantastic moody expressionist seascape oil painting by, Swedish painter and listed artist, Einar Emland. E Emland studied painting with Jules Schyl at Tekniska Skolan, and with Wilhelm Grüttrud in Oslo, with Rostrup Bøyesen in Copenhagen and at Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris 1946-1951.    Emland liked to depict everyday people and happenings and believed that art should available to everyone not just the wealthy.  Emland was a very productive painter other depicting faceless figures, landscapes and still lifes.
