Vintage, mid century, oil painting by listed Swedish artist Ingegerd Gothe (1912-1988) Studied in Sweden as well as France and Italy. Very colorful and vibrant landscape painting using sgrafitto technique in period frame. Lovely composition- lovely painting.

Some of the artwork that I sell online at   Vintage Art Room   is found at "loppis" (flea market) here. When I am at "loppisar" (plural for flea market!) I have to sort through a lot of artwork- it's a very dirty job actually. I think that for every 100-150 paintings I look at I am lucky to find one good one. The Swede's were quite prolific painters both amateurs and professional up until about the 70's. High temperatures and very high humidity is something we aren't used to here. I thought it would be refreshing to post a cool winter scene.
